During my exchange semester in South Korea I was fascinated by the various cupsleeve events taking place on a weekly basis at various cafés all over Seoul, where people would gather to celebrate their favourite celebrities' birthdays or milestones together with fellow fans. This inspired me to create my own café event in Sweden dedicated to K-pop group ENHYPEN for their 2nd debut anniversary, at one of my favorite bubble tea café shops, SOFE TEA. As café events are not quite common and still viewed as a new concept in Sweden, I was a bit nervous for how it was going to be received, considering possible marketing challenges such as how to reach out to the right target audience. Therefore, I was pleasantly surprised when my event turned out to be successful with over 350 visitors over the two days!

As an event planner I had to take on a variety of different roles: for this project I was in charge of everything from sourcing and logistics of event goods, to concept building and designing of goods, and lastly, producing content for [social media] marketing. While the traditional method of printing out the event poster and distributing it all over the city was utilised, aside of hosting a giveaway contest promoting the event for users to share on their Instagram, I also decided to create a Tiktok video. The video was made following the platform's conventional editing style of short clips, in-app captions and using a current trending sound as background music. I also paid for a week-long promotion, which turned out to be the most successful method to promote the event due to the app's algorithm and the video garnered over 22,000 views in one week.
